Major 4G coup for Belfast-based Rainbow Mobile | Northern Ireland ...

Rainbow Mobile, part of the Rainbow Communications group headquartered in Belfast, has been selected by EE as the sole business provider of their new 4G service in Northern Ireland.

EE, the company behind Orange and T-Mobile, is launching a new brand and network and Rainbow Mobile has been chosen as the only direct partner in the whole of the region.

EE will be the first brand in the UK to offer a mobile 4G service ? the pioneering technology that offers superfast mobile internet at speeds typically five times faster than 3G speeds today.

Director of Rainbow Mobile, John Glackin, says the move is massive for Northern Ireland:?EE will begin to roll out 4G across the UK over the next few months and Belfast will be one of just sixteen cities to have the technology before the end of 2012. It will then be rolled out even further after that.

?We are absolutely delighted to have been selected as an EE direct partner which means we will be the only provider here in a position to supply our business customers with 4G.

?It will mean businesses can have superfast internet on the move, making things like checking emails, downloading documents and uploading business data unbelievably quick, plus allowing them to make video calls on the go. This will undoubtedly revolutionise business communications.?

Rainbow Mobile is part of Rainbow Communications, which is Northern Ireland?s largest independent business telecoms company.

Employing 80 staff, Rainbow provides calls and lines, mobiles, broadband, inbound, systems, VoIP, data, IT Services and more.

John Glackin continued: ?Rainbow Communications currently manages the business telecoms requirements for 40% of Northern Ireland?s Top 200 companies so we are thrilled to be able to offer them the most advanced development in mobile technology for the past few years.

?EE is the new brand for a digital age and not only will it offer the UK?s first mobile 4G network, but also a Fibre Broadband service for the office and home. When not on 4G, customers can also avail of the UK?s biggest 3G network. This is an exciting time and we are delighted to be involved.?
