It's a large part of the attraction of owning pets, that if you feed them and occasionally give them a scratch behind the ears they'll love you unconditionally. That and the fact they'll never, ever outdraw you playing open-face Chinese poker. It's a winning combo that should be celebrated on a day like this, World Animal Day (or so we've been told).
